Intro to "A View From A Broad"

      Hi, my name is Julie Wilson, and yes I am an old broad. I am in that menopausal group of women that I think society forgets about.  We may have lost the fight against gravity, but most of us still have our brains. We contribute to society everyday, whether thru work, our families and friends, and just being part of the community. Most of us are grandparents, and looking forward to retirement.

      I live in Wyoming, yes Wyoming, one of the reddest states in the U.S., but I am blue thru and thru. Worried about the environment, yes, worried about a women's right to choose, yes, I'm sure you get the idea. Liberal I am!

      I work in a junior high school, so I am acquainted with our states education system, and talking to others in different school districts, we are all pretty much the same. Fucked up. (Oh I should warn you, I do have a potty mouth.) Though I am not a teacher, I work as support staff, so I get to see everything that goes on. In future blogs, I will probably discuss many things that go on in schools.

     This is just my quick introduction to me. I am 56 yrs old, getting ready to turn 57 next month.  Married for 22 years, we have a blended family. My husband had 2 children from his first marriage and I had two also. We decided when we first got together not to have any children between us. That too will be a later discussion.

      I feel a hot flash coming on, so I will sign off for now. Hopefully with time on my side, I will be able to continue this blog. I am looking forward to discussing my opinions, thoughts and ideas about this forgotten age group. Menopausal women unite!!! We might be hot, irritated, tired, and hungry, but we matter too!!!!!
